Prerequisites: Be familiar with Raspberry Pi AND Python OR have taken the beginners Python camp.
This camp has more in depth coding, building circuits, prototyping ideas, and learning electronics! During the camp, students will learn how to write more advanced code and begin to think like an advanced programmer and go home with interactive projects. Python will be language campers will utilize to write commands for the GPIO (hardware control platform). Campers will leave with Raspberry Pi, Power source, Micro SD card, Bread board, LED's, and an interactive electronic project built on the Pi. Are you ready to know more about what goes on inside of your computer? Campers will also learn more about their computers and more about what we can do with coding. You will be working with the latest version of Python 3 and writing your code in the IDLE programming environment.

Class size limited to 5 in lab students. Students will practice safe distancing and will be needing to wear face masks. Fablab will also provide comfortable face shields to students.
In Lab Camps maybe cancelled if state guidelines regarding group gatherings are restricted
Camp limited to 5 virtual option campers. A lab kit will be mailed to participating camper.
Campers should bring their own laptop to work on. All of the software we use is open source and can be downloaded for free. If your camper does not have a laptop available we can provide a limited amount. Please contact Yvette Wilson in advance to reserve a lab computer.
